What separates an MIA from a Targeted Assessment is the holistic approach to your building. A critical visual inspection and review of any historic data is a must. Sampling of the environment, which may include mold, bacteria, chemicals, and general particulate matter is a big part of an MIA, reviewing more that just targeted areas but the entire living spaces. Sampling is more forensic, allowing for a higher level of confidence to detect issues in a building, where traditional assessments may miss. DNA analysis, culture analysis, LAL assay, and microscopy are examples of the more commonly utilized laboratory analysis methods.  One of the most important aspects of a MIA is the interpretation of the data. This is where working with leaders in the industry matters. There are over 800,000 manmade chemicals used throughout the world. We are not looking at every chemical, nor every contaminant. We specialize in identifying surrogates that can help us locate sources in the building without breaking the bank. If, however, you have a known contaminant (example: a specific SDS of a Pesticide) that you would like us to assess, we encourage you to bring that to our attention so we can determine how best to assess your concerns.
